About Mrs. CarlMrs. Cary Carl is starting her 39th year of teaching at Bracken County High School. For many years, she taught Sophomore English and French and currently teaches Yearbook and Arts & Humanities classes. She is a graduate of Morehead State University, with a Masters in Secondary Education. Mrs. Carl is married to Phil Carl and they have two daughters, Amy and Dana, a son-in-law Eric, and three grandsons—Brylee, Isaac, and Braxton.

Class InformationArts & Humanities - This course explores the relationship of the Arts to history, society and culture by looking at all the different aspects of the Arts including music, visual arts, drama, and dance. We examine the basic components of these subject areas, learn about great compositions, artworks, works of literature and dances that have defined different eras and cultures throughout history. Our goal is to establish an understanding of the universal significance of the arts, the purpose of each genre and the reason why art is a necessary and enriching part of life.
Yearbook - This hands-on course applies the concepts of creating and publishing the school yearbook through the use of scanners, digital cameras, and the yearbook computer program. Students develop communication skills, problem-solving techniques, cooperative learning, and interpersonal skills. Students learn how to interview, sell business and patron ads and old yearbooks at school events as well. |
